Altered CD's by Mary Zotz

Eunice Creswell

Supply List:
CD
Acrylic Paint
Cardstock
Crystal Effects
Micro Beads
Tassel
Charms
Stamped Images
Vintage Pictures
Permanent Ink
Adhesive

You can use about anything you want on these.  Just get a picture in your mind and grab whatever leftovers from other projects you have!!

Tip:  You can paint both sides or just one side and cover the other with cardstock. You can cover both sides with cardstock.

Directions:
Step 1
Paint your CD... both sides or 1 side. If you paint 1 side then add paper to the back. Decide if you want the hole to show or you can cover it up.

Step 2
When your CD is dry... decide if you want to hang beads or fibers from the CD. Maybe you want to attach some eyelets!! Now is the time to drill your holes!!

Step 3
Time to think about paper and pictures...

I like the distressed look so I sand the sides of my pictures so the edges blend better. I also like to add crumpled tissue paper - this is also good to do while your paint is still wet!!

Don't forget to add something to the back of your CD!!

Don't forget to add some words!! Either print something on the computer or stamp something - on the CD or on another piece of paper.

Make button letters by wrapping some wire around a pen, lay the wire on the CD, write the letter with a sharpie inside the circle, then fill with crystal effects/diamond glaze!!

Step 4
Think about other embellishments:
Beads
Buttons
Bows
Fibers
Tassels

Now is the time to add them. Use your favorite adhesive with these.

Step 5
Time to put everything together!!

Anything goes... add your pictures and embellishments. Add your fibers and tassels. Add anything else laying around.

This is another very forgiving technique. You can add scraps of all kinds of things, you can stamp, you can add pictures.

Make your CD into a clock or a calendar!! Make an invitation with your CD or an ornament!!
